Harmonizer, Traveler, Sports Lover, and Listener
Prior to joining the Academy, Anny Staten was a Dean of Students for Union High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
"I’ve always had a passion for advancing young learners' futures and finding their places in our world. I enjoy being a collaborator because it brings people closer together while also helping everyone learn from one another. The great aspect of collaboration is that it opens up a new channel of communication," says Staten.
Anny Staten received her bachelor's in Sociology at Michigan State University. She later on received her master's degree in Business Management from Cornerstone University.
When she isn't at The Academy you can find Anny exercising, doing sports, or enjoying excellent food.
Loyalty is key and I am a great listen while being a lover of people.
I would let future Academy students know to have an open mind to learning and know that failure is inevitable.
Yes, I have always wanted to work in tech.
Before the Academy, I had experience with tech and iOS from my previous career experience. Working in education, there's a variety of tech skills and workshops I was taken through. Tech companies from all over gave their expertise in technology workshops that helped further my journey.
I am most excited about being a mentor that gives advice because I like to listen to people. I genuinely want others to benefit from the hard-won wisdom they’ve learned over the course of their careers.
I am from Grand Rapids and I currently live in Detroit, Michigan.
