Creative. Traveler. Tech Lover.
As the Office Coordinator at the Academy, Shonda has the responsibility of managing the financial aid process for the students and handling coordination of Academy office needs. She enjoys this role because she contributes to making sure that all administrators, mentors, and learners have what is needed to succeed at the academy.
Prior to joining the Academy, Shonda has a background of over 18 years of administrative/clerical experience. She has worked for several large corporations, non-profits, and is a small business entrepreneur.
Shonda received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Davenport University. When she is not at the Academy, you can find Shonda either spending time with family and friends, or volunteering for her community. Shonda also is a proud member of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc. where she has served in several different officer positions.
Responsible and facilitative.
When things seem challenging, take time to reflect on why it’s important.
Yes, I’ve always had a passion for problem solving and that made me curious about how tech works. Problem solving skills are very important in tech.
Prior to the academy, I took a few computer technology courses. As an entrepreneur, I have a graphic design business that I run on my spare time.
I’m excited to see how the students from the academy apply what they learned to future businesses in the tech field in Detroit.
