Outdoorsy. Adventurous. Nerd.
As a coding mentor at the Academy, Tyler helps students learn how to turn their ideas into code. His background in data science and analytics helps students understand how to make use of data throughout the app development process.
Prior to joining the Academy Tyler worked as a data scientist at Meijer and Bayer where he used coding and statistics to help businesses make better, more informed decisions using data. His primary skills include data engineering, automation, and analytics.
Tyler got his master’s degree in business analytics from Michigan State University. When not in the Academy, you can find Ty rock climbing, mountain biking, snowboarding, disc golfing, (anything outdoorsy), drinking a nice IPA with friends, or playing music on piano or guitar.
Listening, patience, honest, humble, willingness to learn, tenacious, victor approved.
Have fun with it. This is a great opportunity to learn about coding and design, but there is also so much to learn from just being a part of the academy and working with the people around you.
Tyler has always had an interest in the tech field and his grad school helped him get started working in data science.
Before the Apple Developer Academy Tyler was a data scientist. Much of his time was spent building and maintaining statistical models.
Ty has always been interested in educating and the Apple Developer Academy is the perfect opportunity to share his knowledge of programming and statistics to help people learn. He is most excited to see the great ideas the students bring to the academy.
Ty is from Pinckney, Michigan and currently lives in Detroit.
